The Climate case

 

Trouw newspaper yearly ranks and publishes thé influentials in sustainability in the Netherlands in their "Sustainable top 100". This year Roger Cox, founder and president of The Planet Prosperity Foundation, took second place for winning the climate case for Urgenda Foundation and 800-900 Dutch citizens against the Dutch state. Maurits Groen, green veteran and co-founder of WakaWaka, the practical initiative to light up third world living rooms with solar powered lamps, was overall winner.

Medal awarded

 

Planet Prosperity Foundation's founder Roger Cox was put in the spotlight on “Sustainable Tuesday” this September. He was presented with one of three sustainable medals that are yearly awarded to sustainability leaders by IVN, a Dutch organisation for nature development and education.

Limburg 2030

 

Our sponsorship of and participation in the “Limburg 2030” education project in 2010 was a very inspiring experience. Initiated by five local mothers concerned for their children’s future, the idea behind the project was to connect schools and local businesses to enable them to learn from each other. Pupils and students between the ages of 14 and 22 interviewed various businesses, focusing on the question: “What are YOU doing for MY future?”

Revolution Justified

 

Revolution Justified was first published in Dutch in November 2011 by Planet Prosperity Foundation and immediately made a strong impact.

Various environmental and business organizations and some of the most influential Dutch leaders in sustainability were quick to publicly endorse the book, distributing over a thousand copies to the Dutch administration, all members of parliament, business leaders, universities and other institutions, urging them to read the book and act with greater urgency in the energy transition.

Let's Cradle

In October 2006 the Dutch documentary Waste = Food (“Waste equals food”) was aired on Dutch national television, envisioning an economically feasible, ecologically beautiful and fundamentally sustainable world based on “Cradle to Cradle.”

An ecological business and design concept, Cradle to Cradle strives for an almost utopian ideal in our very real world. The documentary set off a chain reaction in Dutch society and led the concept to be widely embraced by businesses, organizations and education institutions.

Visit Al for free!

Planet Prosperity Foundation extended the invitation to “Visit Al for free!”, offering 50,000 free tickets to see An Inconvenient Truth at one of 20 Dutch cinemas that simultaneously screened the acclaimed climate film for a full month. Joining forces with Universal Pictures International Netherlands, theaters and sponsors, Planet Prosperity organized this campaign in 2007 to raise general public awareness about the threats of climate change.

The campaign was well received and gave an unprecedented boost to climate change awareness in the Netherlands.
